Armstrong Park
Armstrong Park is named after former El Lago
resident Neil
A. Armstrong,
NASA Astronaut and the first man walk on the moon. It is the newest member
of the El Lago Park System and is located immediately east of City Hall. The
pathway
traversing the park is named after long time El Lago City Secretary Jean Raffetto.
A bench
was recently added in memory of former Councilman Paul R. Raffetto. There are
plans to
add more benches and a picnicking area in the near future.
McNair Memorial Park
McNair Memorial Park is named after Space
Shuttle Challenger
Astronaut Ronald
McNair. This park has large-scale play equipment,
covered picnicking areas, a bicycle-BMX track and baseball field, a newly
constructed all-purpose pavilion, restroom facilities and additional park
amenities. Park hours are 5 a.m. to midnight.

Witty Memorial Park
Witty Memorial Park, named after former El
Lago mayor Robert D. Witty,
is located in the 440 block of Hickory Ridge Drive next to the WCID #50
office. It is outfitted with playground equipment for the youngest El Lago-ans.
A bench
was recently added in memory of former Mayor Elizabeth Lenoir. Park hours
are 5 a.m. to midnight.
