Scenes from the 2010 City Celebration
An unexpected rain began the festivities on Saturday, April 10th, but then cleared in the early afternoon for residents to come out to McNair Park for the Annual City Celebration. Parents were treated to the soothing sounds of “Phelonius Monk” as their kids went wild on the inflatible slides and obtsacle courses. A delicious meal of chicken, potato salad, chips and green beans provided by Mayor Emel and the Classic Café; and red beans and rice and jalapeno cornbread provided by Boondoggle's were enjoyed by all who attended. As always, we are grateful to the gentlemen of the Clear Lake Masonic Lodge who were such a big help in preparing and serving the food for the event.
Our thanks go out to everyone who contributed toward making our City's Celebration an enjoyable success so don't forget to say thanks next time you're out to...
Ameriwaste for providing trash can and liners again this year;
Boondoggle's for the red beans and rice, jalapeño cornbread and friendly staff that cooked and served;
Mayor Emel and the Classic Café for providing grilled chicken, potato salad, green beans and chips;
Concrete Raising Corporation for providing the snow cone machine and syrup.
And all those who gave financial contributions which included:
El Lago Estates Civic Corp.
Taylorcrest Community Association
A very big thanks to city officials and staff who helped set up and serve at the event. We especially appreciate the City Maintenance team of Felix Marquez and Luis Perez for all the outstanding jobs they did before, during and after the City Celebration.
